The Technology Center is located in the company’s 107,000 square foot corporate headquarters in Pompano Beach, Florida. This facility is one of three manufacturing facilities in Florida including Oakland Park (67,000 sq. ft.) and Deerfield Beach (61,000 sq. ft.). This infrastructure gives Point Blank superior production capacity. Point Blank is the largest supplier of body armor to the US Military. The Interceptor Outer Tactical Vest (OTV), designed and manufactured by Point Blank, is currently worn by soldiers fighting today’s war against terrorism. Since 1999, Point Blank has shipped more than 1.3 million Interceptor vests to the US Armed Forces. With nearly a decade of combat proven performance, the Interceptor OTV continues to provide the ultimate combination of state-of-the-art ballistic protection and pioneering design innovations. Recent enhancements include the Deltoid Auxiliary Protection System (DAPS) which offers increased protection to the sholders, under and upper arms, as well as the Enhanced Side Ballistic Inserts (ESBI) for increased side protection. In addition, the Back Extendor provides additional ballistic and fragmentation protection to the lower back. Commonly targeted areas such as the groin, lower back and thoat are also protected. These design components provide an integrated system flexible enough to support mission accomplishment while offering effective defense against a broad array of threats.
In June 2007, the US Army awarded point balnk part of a new order to manufacture the next generation of body armor, the Improved Outer tactical Vest (IOTV). The IOTV incorporates many of Point Blank’s innovations, including ergonomic solutions for improved weight distribution. A ver¬sion of the patented Self-Suspending Ballis¬tic System™ (SSBS) keeps ballistic panels in place, preventing sagging or bunching that can expose vulnerable areas. This results in a lighter, more flexible vest with increased coverage. The IOTV also comes equipped with a quick release system that enables it to be removed with one pull, saving valuable time when every second can make a differ¬ence in the chance of survival.
Other protective solutions for the Military include Ballistic Hand Protectors, Tactical Leg Armor, Ballistic Elbow and Knee Pads, Hard Armor Plates and Breaching Blankets.
